What is knowledge management?

This paragraph broadly addresses the activity of managing knowledge to influence the business' intellectual capital. These functions are dependent on each other and in reality are driven by the attitude of its owners.

Fundamentally, it is the attitude that influences the success of knowledge management, which can be supported by a "knowledge creation methodology" (KCM).

The KCM is developed by its owners using:

  • instrument survey-design (e.g. Likert or Delphi) and analysis,
  • one on one interviews and
  • Special & Critical Interest Groups.

Apart from satisfying the attitude of most, the KCM sets the strategy and standards for the creation, transfer & use/reuse, and establishes the deliverable - a knowledge centre.
